Rest assured, mvp, that all is well. Puff has a chronic case of neckface. His head ties straight into his shoulders, making for a mighty fine Jabba the Hut impression.
If anything, one must prepare themselves for the massive breadth of his head and shoulder region by stretching one’s hands in advance. Small hands need not apply. They will simply be strained as they get caught up in the lusciousness of his fine Brit coat.[/QUOTE]
I think Jabba the Hut is a good look on a cat, as that palomino shorthair demonstrates with special skill.
By the way, can longhair cats ever really boast a proper NeckFace? I mean, all that fur, plus our living in the “I never had sex with that woman” moment means that one might be suspicious that all that fur was a cat’s version of smoke and mirrors. A wet cat really shows you who they are. If cats were subject to impeachment hearings, I think they’d merely constitute a bath… with cameras.
ETA: And another thing! How does one get joy from petting a cat if one has those soft baby hands? I mean, softness is a relative thing. So those never-picked-up-a-shovel infant hands are so much softer than even cat fur. What’s the point in pettin’em? OTOH, a (shorthair’s) loose skin and size of the baby’s little talons makes grabbing a fist full of cat fur really nice. And notice how We of Proper Hand Size can never again get a full fistful of cat… (without a bad outcome).
It is a trade-off, isn’t it? And you can never go back to those dinky hands and the way they let you relate to a cat. Sigh.
