I don’t see where it was dismissed. Can you direct the group since now it is in discussion. If it was dropped, I am happy to delete/edit my above posts. As then they should pursue getting the inaccurate information expunged. Then go after getting reinstated.

My understanding is that there is essentially no recourse because SS isn’t recognized as a gov’t entity (despite being created and funded by congress and probably would have never existed otherwise) and because it doesn’t impose criminal or civil sanctions beyond participation in the sport……”and you are not entitled to participate in sports”.

I wonder if they are concerned about a suit coming from him or if they are concerned about a similar lawsuit arising to the Taylor Jay’s vs USEF one. Also an interesting reading about them rewording their mission statement and language on the website to relieve them of future liability.

My memory could be wrong, but I believe this was part of the Taylor Jays suit.
Dylan Harries continued to train, judge, and attend non-USEF affiliated shows in TX and was on USEF show grounds while being investigated and banned under SS.

Let’s say that Pennywell misread the COTH article on the convicted part (it does cover two trainers in Texas), she said if you proved her wrong she would be happy to delete her above post stating as such. So you quote it so she can’t? What does that accomplish? Wouldn’t NOT quoting her and letting her remove something that could potentially damage someone you support be the better option?

Deleted. It’s been quoted by others.

You’ve deleted quite a few posts on here. It doesn’t give me confidence in what you share. Most of us are willing to be corrected and to remove posts with erroneous info. For some reason you act very angry even though you said you didn’t have a dog in this fight. But… no one is fighting. We’re just trying to figure out what’s going on.

My deleted posts were around Dylan Harries, his charges, his actions in the DFW area, and the mention of this in the THJA link. They are not pertinent to this conversation, so I deleted them immediately after posting.

It really is. Could other non USEF shows also be allowing known banned trainers in because they have been threatened with a lawsuit? We’ve had several discussions on this thread about what the organization plans on doing about trainers on the Safesport list, now we have a real example of what happens to non USEF shows when they decide to ban those trainers from their shows.

Calling someone a quote CONVICTED RAPIST bothers me, especially when there is nothing to support the allegation. Using a non-official website to support a post when official records are easily located online bothers me. Both things are disproven with the legitimate links I posted.

The Chronicle article appears to be accurate based on the published date. It mentions that Christian Heineking was permanently suspended from the USEF and FEI after an arrest involving the sexual assault of a child.

Dylan Harries was mentioned as being convicted and deported.

This thread has taken a turn I didn’t foresee!

I went and took a peek at the link the cow posted. I see the case was dismissed but that’s not the same as not guilty or is it? I thought I learned lots during Barisone’s trial but I still can’t read legal papers. :no_mouth:

It’s about the same as Lauren’s long list of arrests and charges.

But technically, it means not guilty because in this country, at least criminally, you are presumed innocent until you plead guilty or are tried and found guilty by a jury.

I see where the second degree felony charge was dismissed, but I also see that prior to the dismissal was a plead hearing. So did he plead to a reduced charge to get the original charge dismissed?

I’m not a lawyer nor do I play one on TV, but I believe that just means a plea in general was entered into records not that he plead down. With the lack of any open cases against him, that I can find, I’d just assume he plead not guilty and then the charges were dropped shortly after.

I feel like that Safe Sport does not care. Once they have a name on their list, they are fine with it just staying there and not doing anything to make sure it should be there.

Yes. There can be multiple eye-witnesses and physical evidence but it can still get dismissed if, for example, a witness doesn’t show.

Or a witness is harassed, or doesn’t want to go through the emotional trauma, or a number of reasons.

Your reaction to @Pennywell_Bay’s post is extremely and unnecessarily hostile. You could have corrected her “convicted” error in a civilized manner. You write as if she invented your husband’s entire indictment and arrest. Christian Heineking was arrested by the Collin County Sheriff’s Office for felony sexual assault of a child.

No one here is “trying to destroy your family”. Heineking wasn’t indicted or arrested by anyone here, nor was it Safe Sports’ action that caused him to be indicted or arrested.

I understand that the whole ordeal must be very upsetting for you, but your over the top reaction here on a public forum may only serve to keep more people away from you and your husband.
