Thank you!

Rats! I liked the old version of Second 2.

They took away the serpentine in T3! Waaaa! :sob:

Looks like T3 reverted to the previous version

Was hopeful second was getting completely changed. They only tweaked.

I don’t know how much I like either version. At least the current version doesn’t have the canter across the diagonal and trot at X. I think understand it has its place, but it still sucks :joy:

It does look like that, i honestly preferred the deeper serpentine but what do I know!

whaaaaaaat? i’m showing t3 this weekend, is that going to be in effect? edit: nvm, i looked at the website. sucks that my test will change for schooling show championships, but me and my ridiculously long horse prefer single loops to serpentines, not gonna lie

The deeper serpentine in the small arena on a 17h horse though. :sob: I won’t miss it. It’s not too bad if the show uses a standard sized arena, but when they have it in the intro sized one, it is pretty unpleasant.

4-2 is much better this way. The first quarter pirouette was in a non-intuitive placement, before.

They changed the entire walk tour of 4-1, which was very long before, and then changed the placement of the canter elements as well. Big differences in the order of everything, on that one!

I would be surprised if they require the new test to be used at a regional championship when the horse Qd using the old version. I would check with your show management on this

For the T3 test I see that the loops is to be started “shortly after (the letter)” and ended “shortly before (the letter)” Is this going to cause issues because it’s not either directly at a letter or “between” two letters. Thoughts?

In other tests it’s either AT a letter or “between” two letters.

No word on whether Canada is using these?

It was always been the case during the test swap-over period of Oct-Nov that the old tests could be used to qualify for the next year. IE someone could be riding the 2019 test this weekend and pay the Q fee, get a qualifying score and ride in the Regional Championship 2023 on the new 2023 test.

2023 tests do no ‘begin’ use until the first of Dec 2022.

I like the changes, which are mostly re-organization of the movements, to 1st 3. Actually a little disappointed as it would have been a much better test for us! Onward

I liked the older version of 2-2. (Even tho I never rode it in competition!) I thought the shoulder in, haunches in set up the medium. With a horse without a natural big medium that was more user-friendly than having it as the first movement. I imagine the judges are happy not to try to judge a second level medium on the center line.
I will be interested to hear why they changed to doing both SIs and then both HIs rather than SI - HI, SI-HI.

Ugh, I do not like the new 2-2. I guess we better fix up our CC so we can do 2-3. I think First-2 will be the test for my younger horse though she might be able to do 2-1, which seems to be the same and rides pretty well.

my schooling shows are always in short arena. ughhhh

championships are december, so they will probably change, but i have a schooling show this weekend. i’ll check with my trainer and show management, thank you!

Your championship is after Dec 1? That’s when the test come into effect. And of course Schooling /GMO shows are not required to follow the timelines
