NEW USERS who haven't received their account verification message (Comcast customers)

We’ve recently had some problems with some of our site’s automated email messages being blocked by some email systems, such as comcast.net and earthlink.net.

If you’ve set up an account and haven’t been able to activate it because you haven’t yet received the email required to do so:

First, please check your personal spam folder, as they sometimes land there.

If it’s nowhere to be found, please send a message to admin1@chronicleforums.com from the address you used to set up the account. Just include a brief note about needing to activate your account, and let us know the username on the account.

We’ll be happy to manually activate your account while we address the problems with the email system.

We’re still having trouble with Comcast, in particular, blocking our system’s emails. That means Comcast folks probably also won’t be receiving notifications you’ve signed up for, such as notices of new Private Messages, thread subscriptions, etc.

We’re still working on it, but it probably wouldn’t hurt for those affected to call Comcast to complain… :wink:
