New Vinyl for McGuinn

Hi All- I’m in the process of restoring an old McGuinn. The vinyl panels are old and need an upgrade. I’ve read that car wrap and custom sign places can help make new panels. I’m also wondering if I could just buy marine vinyl and make my own panels: https://www.marinevinylfabric.com/products/marine-vinyl-fabric

Has anyone ever done something like this? Any downsides I’m not considering?

Thanks!

We did car wraps on ours and they look terrific, you really can’t tell they’re covering an older panel. They lasted about 3 years of HEAVY daily use (exposed and constantly having stuff on them including sometimes spilled drinks etc.) before they started to show a little bit of scratching/scuffing.

Vfx111 what did it cost to do the whole trunk as opposed to say just one panel? I need maybe two panels done on a trunk.

I only had to do 2 panels and it was around $125ish

@vxf111 how does it work with the slight indentation of the piping color?

You can slightly see this when you stand at JUST the right angle but it’s not offensive to me.

Can you upload a pic???

I think I saw it on FB the other day but could have my people crossed.

Em

I did my own panel wraps. I will try to find pics but the cost of the vinyl sheet (purchased from a car wrap supply place) was around $75 and it was enough to do several trunks.

@vxf111 they look amazing. Where did you order from?

Those trunks look nice. Thanks for the price info looks like that’s the route I’m going.

A local car wrap place called Acerbo’s.
