I’m looking for basic driving lessons within about an hour of Amherst, Mass and I don’t really know where to start! There is one farm quite close to me that advertises driving lessons in addition to riding lessons, but I don’t know enough about the driving world to know if they would be a good place to try out. GMHA isn’t all that far away from me, so I know there has GOT to be some other opportunities for driving lessons in this area.
Even though I’m a newbie to driving, I’m a dressage rider and have taught beginner english riding lessons in the past. I’m currently riding at about 1st level and do a fair bit of lunging, so I understand the basics of movement, impulsion, collection, etc. I imagine I’ll want to go in a similar direction with driving: dressage, possibly some combined driving.
Ideally I’d like to find someone who could teach my husband and I together; though he isn’t as experienced as I am, he has also ridden in the past and is a competent horseperson. Any suggestions???
I just know he is up there.
