Newbie saddle fitting

I have bought a cute quarter horse mare that i fell in love with.
My much beloved Toulouse Aachen Wide does not fit her. Slides side to side. I am borrowing a Rembrandt Laurea that fits her well, but not me.

In the market for a used saddle $850.00 range. I would like something with a deeper seat and nice knee roll.

How do i measure the width correctly, i see so many that are marked 32cm-38cm. What am i measuring to fit that right?

I have posted about her back. Wide mare, lower withers, built downhill.
Thanks in advance.

what about X-Wide Jorge Canaves Vienna II? Anybody have experience with these? this is a 36cm.

The tree width measurements for saddles are not really all that helpful in trying to figure out what might work on a particular horse.

Really, the best thing to do is to either send wither tracings to a tack shop that carries used saddles, or try every saddle you can lay your hands on locally to see what brand and size might work for your horse.

There are a lot of on-line videos that talk about saddle-fitting or making a wither tracing. This one is good: http://saddlefitter.blogspot.com/2013/07/video-tutorial-how-to-take-template-of.html
