Newly imported perlino Connemara colt from Ireland!!

Well, it took 6 years of looking, but I finally got my colt.

My I please introduce FIONTAR MAC TIER, a 2011 no grey, double dilute (perlino) Connemara by Maumturk Oliver out of Rossaveal Lady (Frederiksminde Hazy Match). Finn stands 14.1hh and is coming 2 at the end of April. He is currently the only DD Connemara in all of North America (that I am aware of) that is eligible for full registration and whose offspring will be fully registered Connemaras.

He is the WHOLE package. Bloodlines, conformation, movement.

Hopefully he will be standing in 2015 after showing on the line and getting started under saddle.

http://muskokalakesconnemaras.com/news You can see some pics here, but I will be getting some professional shots done when he regains the weight he lost on his trip as well as sheds out

Cheers all and WELCOME FINN!!!

Congrats! Looks like a handsome boy!

Congratulations!!! Importing is always so exciting!!

Huge congratulations!!! You must be SO excited!!

Congratulations

Congratulations! Can’t wait to see how he matures!

Congrats! Looks like a lovely pony

He looks absolutely lovely! Congratulations!

Beginner color question from a lurker to the Breeding board—your website indicates his perlino coloring will translate to buckskin offspring. What color would the mare have to be? Chestnut?

He will always pass a cream gene with a black base so you will only get buckskin (and perhaps smokey black?) regardless of the colour of the mare. Except if she’s grey then there’s at least a 50% chance of the foal going grey.

Thank you! Can’t wait to see further updates on this fellow as he adjusts to this side of the world!

I am getting him tested further to see what his base is… Depending on the colour of mare and his agouti status etc he can potentially help with any of the dilute colours. Once I know what he carries (other than no grey!) I can better give folks an idea

Finn has left for his education under saddle and is maturing beautifully. His first foal is here (Aug 24) and he is lovely!
Finn will be aimed for the Stallion Testing in 2015 and will be campaigned the summer of 2015 in eventing. Updates to follow on the website (as well as pics of his first foal of course).
Cheers!
