Never done this before but looking for a nice RV campground with pool and some amenities (access to waterfront would be great as might bring along a little boat too) within decent travel distance to the Venice Horse Show grounds. Plan to bring 1 or 2 horses with me this coming winter but not that keen on actually parking on the showgrounds. Have a large camper rig… thanks in advance for any suggestions. Good or bad!
We stay at the horse show for convenience and beaches are minutes away. It’s a beautiful area. I’ll be watching this thread for ideas.
I am not as familiar with Venice besides Fox Lea itsself, but I know Sun N Fun in Sarasota to be an option… There are several winter RV parks, that’s what this area is known for, so I’m sure a quick google search can yield the results you’re looking for.
Sun N Fun on Fruitville Rd, right near I-75 would be about a 20 minute drive to Fox Lea. But it fills fast so I wouldn’t wait till the last minute.
Good to know about a recommended RV place thanks guys. OK, another question…what about a 2 or 3 bedroom house close by the showgrounds? Seems more riders from my barn might now be looking at heading down to show Jan, Feb and March next year at Fox Lea. 
I work & live in Venice & Sarasota. Been down here 4.5 years full time now.
Venice is a huge seasonal & retirement area so stuff books up super fast! Especially short term home rentals.
FLF is less than 4 miles inland so you’re not far from the water or beaches even if you stay there.
Did a quick google search for “Venice FL RV parks” & found several places you can check out. Sun N Fun is very popular, but it’s 20 miles from the showgrounds. 75 can be a parking lot during season so that 20-30 minute drive depending on time of day could easily be double that.

Go Camping America". Look there and you will find a number of parks
