I like the Boomerang Collar tags that you slip the collar through. No jangling and they don’t get pulled off and lost. www.boomerangtags.com
Ditto on the Boomerang tags. Plus they don’t seem to get scratched up, ever, unlike most tags. All of my cheap “working” nylon collars and harnesses have Boomerangs on them. And when the nylon gives out, as it does, you just switch the tag to the new collar.
Quillin collars are the best- soft, gorgeous, highly legible nameplates, last longer than the dog.

I second this! I have used their brass hanging tags for years now. I just ordered one for the new shelter pup, too. They look lovely, wear like iron, can be engraved on both sides, and are reasonably priced. They also arrive quick! All around win!
As for collars, my last pup used a pretty basic Weaver leather one. But for the new pup, I ordered this padded leather collar from SmartPak, in blue. Eagerly awaiting its arrival next week!
Thank you very much for the suggestions
I may have to pull names out of a hat in order to figure out which collar to get :o
