This had me laughing out loud but at the same time I wanted to put up a tourist-proof fence! My favorite part is the kid who sits the canter so well at about 30 seconds in.
Is this the right video? No kids canteringā¦
Child on fatherās shoulders.
Over on the right, about 30 seconds in.
That horse sure loves his job!
Oh hey! My name is Horse Guard! Any snacks?

Iām beginning to think the guard needs to be fenced off from the public. There is a sign up warning of kicks and bites but not one person appeared to read it. The mouthing is fun until someone gets bitten. Iām old enough to remember London without a 365/24/7 tourist industry and people didnāt line up to take photos on phones. Poor horses.
Yes, I remember when the Buckingham Palace sentries were moved from outside the palisade to inside it, closer to the palace, to get them away from the tourists.
I do wonder how many tourists can read that sign but not saying they should āgo Americanā and post it in various languages (well, maybe āgo Indiaā).
When I was there the first time, 50 years ago, I remember taking a horse a sugar cube from breakfast and holding it up to his rider for approval; I also remember another young woman feeding the horse a chocolate ice cream cone which could have really smudged his lovely white blaze.
Later I read that some young women would slip their phone numbers into the ridersā boots! Iām glad I didnāt know about that when I was there ā would I have been that brave or not? Weāll never know lol !
