Nick Peronace Dressage

It is sad, however I have no patience with this kind of person.

I care about the people who might pay a large sum of money for a clinic taught by someone who falsifies their credentials ,not to mention their address (I still can’t get over THAT whopper).

The sad thing is he is not a bad rider in that quick video. It is nothing earth shattering…just a guy cantering a horse on a circle. He has the horse too far behind the vertical, but not anything different than you see in every warm up ring at a show. Certainly not “classical”, but not horrible. If he had just presented himself honestly, worked on building a real professional reputation through himself talking lessons with true (in person, not books) trainers, developed a show career, etc he probably could have built himself a business.

However, everyone wants to be a “master” without truly doing the actual work it takes to be master. And I am not talking about “self training” one horse when you were 17 years old. I am talking about having an apprenticeship, a true learning experience and THEN becoming a professional. For example, Katherine Bateson Chandler worked under the tutelage of Robert Dover for something like 14 years before taking over the reins…not just sitting next to him at Devon.

Then to make false claims of riding positions, books, articles, etc just make it impossible to take someone seriously, ever. I can’t imagine the bridge can ever be rebuilt. So sad.
THIS. It’s not horrific like the other video. He looks like an AA who has ridden at some point in the past but is in the early stages of learning about dressage and needs to put some serious and quality time in with a qualified trainer. It goes without saying that he is no master, and IMO has no business teaching.

He buried himself with his lies. He could have probably built a business of up and downers with zero drama while he put the actual work in to become a skilled rider. I think I said it earlier and I still say it now, his lies are offensive to those of us, AAs and Pros alike, who take our riding seriously and put in real, honest work to become skilled at what we do.

I have trained in ALL High School movements

Me too. Except for math. I didn’t do so well at math.

Or were we talking about something else?

When’s the Jersey clinic again? I’ve got to pop up in that direction at some point to see my grandmother…

He’s now earned the “klassikal” stamp. All well and good if you want to ride a horse deep, but don’t label yourself “classical/klassikal” and do the opposite of what those texts he supposedly read say.

You know, with some lessons, he wouldn’t be a bad rider. There’s potential there. Not enough to hang out a shingle as a trainer though…

I agree. A charlatan should be outed. Especially when it involves a lot of money and living creatures. But it is sad that he chose this route and not a real one that could have possibly built him a true position making a living doing his “passion”.

She wants $80,000 for the horse he is riding, so said Ms. Nelson on Nick’s facebook page.
Wow…just, wow. It’s a cute horse, but not a world-beater by any stretch. And for not having a show record? Absurd.

Maybe she was joking, too? But that is what she posted —> $80,000.

I completely agree with this. I think that is why I find things like this so irritating. I have put a lot of work into just being a struggling AA! I deal with stuff like this all day at work and maybe that is why I agree so strongly with this sentiment. I can’t tell you how many backyard breeders i see that think they are professional vets. Don’t call yourself a professional ANYTHING unless you can back up the title with REAL qualifications. Simple.

Sorry, double post

Trixie, come visit!

Veronica, I may be up that way next weekend or the weekend after, depending… planning on staying in Philly one night and going out for drinks or something then seeing my grandma the next day. Did I hear something about ponies? Or people that I like who like ponies?

It’s hard to believe that was written by a grown man with no disabilities.

I would think at first that a tween or young teen wrote this stuff. Then some of the stuff I thought possibly English is not his first language but apparently someone’s SO actually knows him. Then the basic misspellings not even teenyboppers would use.

Not too many grown family men write things like:

horse “cousins”

“And this lady would actually beat this horse with a crop hundreds of times”

“So, she had the idea to take me on as the new head trainer of her facility and hope I could fill the stalls.”

“and I SOOO dont blame anyone for becoming skeptical”

“I NEVER EVER call myself…”

“I have trained in ALL High School movements, including Spanish walk and Spanish trot.”

“I am NOT a pompous in any way.”

“Exedra”

double exclamation points: “this is so weird!!” and again in the same paragraph: “this is so weird!!”
My personal favorite is “lolol!”

You owe me a new keyboard.

I laughed out loud when I went to search his page on Facebook and realized he has himself classified as an ‘Artist’ page. Not denying that dressage can be quite the art but there are plenty of more relevant options when making a Facebook page for a training business such as a ‘Business’ page or even an ‘Athlete’ page.

The horse is a Friesian/Percheron/TB cross. I’ve seen him go in person. He’s very cute and forward but not quite FEI yet. He’s priced at about where you can import something ready to go 3rd/PSG

YES! For a second it makes you think, holy crap - you mean I could have spared myself years and years and tens of thousands of dollars in training and jumped straight to a $75 an hour gig as The Maestro??? But then I snap back to reality and remember… Oh yeah, I love this sport and I actually want to be GOOD at it, not just fleece people

Anyone brave enough to ask about the address?
As of two minutes ago, all of the DT, Xenophon, address stuff is still on his website. And, presumably, with the wonder that is Archive.org, there forever. Technology is a beautiful thing.
I have all of this captured on images and saved to my local machine.

Just asked, alternate_universe

Just asked, alternate_universe ;)
Whatever he says… follow it with the screencaps of the e-mails from Jentri’s owner.

Email me.

I asked if I wanted to come ride with him if I would come to the address listed on his website and he said:

Nick Peronace Dressage I once assumed so but lately I’ve been hearing different. I just explain this to someone else via a private message I will post what I said here right now.
Jenn Post owns Stepping Stone Farm now but has a D.B.A Jentri Stables. At one point I was going to rent a barn (3 on the property she has total), but financially the two of us could not pull together. We just could not come to an agreement. Jenn has said that in the future she would rent out in arena for me if I wanted to give lessons out of her facility. I figured it was professional of me to list an address of a farm that I’m working out of. True, I freelance and to date have never gave one single lesson at her facility, but I’m almost positive that if I called her tomorrow and said I have a lesson I want to rent your ring, I doubt she would say no. So in assuming this, I figured it professional to list an address.

Nick Peronace Dressage Im going to take that up with Jenn. I even had a student with me that day who we were going to rent the barn together. She was standing right next to her when Jen said she would at least rent a ring.

Nick Peronace Dressage When I speak with her about it, I will do it via email.

If someone wants to hop over there and take a screen cap to send to JenTri might be a good idea, it’s really difficult for me on this ancient home PC I’m on…
