My horses hooves have gotten so much better and stronger since I have put him on California trace plus and he’s usually turned out during the day when the grass is dry because his feet get soft from the dew at night. I board my horse at my cousin’s house and they won’t let me turn my horse out during the day anymore and want me to turn him out at night because there horse breaks out in hives from Flies and he’s buddy sour and there afraid he will hurt himself if he’s in the barn by himself. Has anybody had experence with there horses feet getting soft from the dew? Would something like the keretex hoof hardner keep the dew from hurting his feet?
My horse has never had a problem with dew softening her hooves. I did know one horse who had bell boots that had huge issues with moisture getting trapped in there. If the barn workers were remembering everything they would take them off in the morning and the horse was fine but if the boots stayed on her hooves would start going soft.
