The Cleveland Bay Horse Society of North America is holding its national annual meeting in Leesburg, VA November 20-22, 2009. As part of the weekend, the New Market-Middletown Valley Hounds has invited Cleveland Bay owners and fanciers to come hunt (hopefully with their CBs, but not totally necessary) on Sunday 22 November. Hounds will meet at 11:00 AM, most likely at our Heritage Hills fixture near Urbana, MD (Routes 80 and 270). A breakfast will follow. The usual cap fee of $75 will apply for mounted guests.
We expect to have a large number of Cleveland Bays in attendance, so if you love this breed or just want to learn more about them, this is a great event to attend.
We will also be hosting a Cleveland Bay sporthorse performance and marketing demo and panel discussion at Morven Park on Friday afternoon, beginning at 3:30 PM. We will have a cross-section of panelists drawn from many disciplines, and will look at several purebred and partbred Cleveland Bays to assess the traits that make them more or less suitable for particular performance careers or to be marketed in a particular direction.
We are very excited that part of the program will be a demo ride by Ashley Kehoe and her top-level eventer Mazetto (whom I hereby claim as my future foxhunter when he is 20!). Ashley will also be a participant in our discussions.
A reception and further informal discussion will follow the program at about 7:00 PM.
If anyone is interested in more information, please feel free to send me a PM.
