So I need to fence in a dry lot/sacrifice area before my horse eats down my pasture too much and I’ve settled on 5’ no climb with a string of electric at the top to keep them off it. Now this is great except for the fact that I’m in Canada (British Columbia) and trying to source things up here has been a nightmare!
I can only find 48” Red Brand no climb with Class 1 galvanized, although I have someone looking into if they can get a 60” in. I can’t find anywhere to get Bekaert at all (someone please let me know where I could source it from up here). These are my only 60” options:
- A brand called Rangemaster in a Class 1 galvanization and I can’t find any reviews for it:
- Generic brand with hinged knots:
- Generic brand with “stay stiff knots” (anyone know what exactly that is?)
- Tree Island Steel Horse fence, Class 1 (anyone heard of that either?):
Everything I can find online points to either Red Brand or Bekaert and I would choose something like that if I had the option and be done with it! But now I don’t know what to do and my brain is fried. Unfortunately I’m in a bit of a time and budget crunch because I have my horse at my house a year ahead of schedule since he beat up another horse and got kicked out of where he was as a result (what a brat).
I need some different perspectives (other than my poor husband who just nods along with whatever). What would you choose/do in my situation?
