I said this on an earlier thread so I’ll just paraphrase here: every single Olympic cycle people complain about the location. Conclusion? Complainers love to complain.

What about having an Olympic venue on each of the continents except for Antarctica? That would give several to rotate between and they would all be the same as far as athletic facilities and athlete housing are concerned. The decoration/landscaping/etc would vary between locations and from Olympics to Olympics.
Seems like it would make things easier and less wasteful.

I have friends that are down there right now, not for the equestrian events (gasp, I know!) but for others. They have mentioned security lines to get into facilities reminscent of early TSA screenings post 9/11, with lines taking 2-3 hours to get into venues. People they have met have missed events they had tickets for because of this. Not sure how true it is at the equestrian centers but at least in other venues that has been their experience.

I have images of the Olympic site in Sarajevo after they had a war. Hard to guarantee it will survive politics and warfare.
Does anyone remember the scares pre sochi and EVERY other olympics?

MysticOakRanch, I got no beef with Antarctica. But I bet the 6 people that live there might have a problem with hosting such a big party!
But I got a hilarious picture of guys like those from the Big Bang Theory trying to build an Olympic complex and host the games, lol!

So because dressage has low attendance in a venue in a sketchy unpleasant location that is far from the other venues with bad traffic and long security lines to get in, we should ban all Olympics on the entire continent? Excellent idea. I hate traffic in LA, so I’m never going to visit Montana because, traffic.
