Non low rise lightweight and flexible breeches or pull on tights

My breeches are so uncomfortable because they are too stiff and thick; it makes it difficult for me to mount the horse. Which are good lightweight and flexible non low rise breeches or riding tights with an elastic waist?

I have tight muscles in my hips which is part of my disability. I need something flexible and lightweight for riding.

Have you tried Kerrits? I love their Flow Rise tights, and is you need something that helps you stick a little better in the saddle, I recommend the Sit Tight Supreme Fullseats. Happy shopping! =)

Ditto! Love my Kerrits. I have about 12+ pair: tights, breeches that are plain or fleece lined, sit tights, western boot cut… You get the idea. I get them on eBay.

Kerrits and Tropical Rider. Both have lots of different seat and knee patch options, and nice high rises. Even their low-rise options really aren’t very low.

Animo are very light

I’m a real fan of Irideon Cadence. The basic fabric is very stretchy, including the waistband. I happen to like the full seat. They wear like iron. I had the first couple of pair for years, and I ride almost everyday, before I noticed that the seat was wearing out. The basic garment is a long way from wearing out and still looks good. They also come in real plus sizes, which I need. I also like the Windpros for winter. Not quite as stretchy, but definitely warmer.

I echo the other posters’ recommendations - Kerrits and Irideon both fit your requirements. I find that Irideon has a bit of a higher rise than Kerrits. This is a seller on Ebay who sells lots of Kerrits products (I have no affiliation). I have also had luck buying summer breeches in the fall and winter breeches in the spring in order to get good sale prices!

Another vote for Irideon. The rise is high, and while I like the Cadence breeches and use them for shows/clinics, my everyday wear is the Irideon Issentials Tights. They’re spandex and VERY lightweight.

Since it sounds like you’re trying to avoid “hitting” your hip region with the waist band, you might also consider the Irideon Topline Tights and Topline Breeches. I discovered them while I was pregnant, at which point Irideon’s high rise and elastic band suddenly didn’t seem like such a great idea but low-rise tights were falling off my body. The Irideon Topline Tights are sort of like yoga pants at the top, so it’s a more flexible scrunchy waistband style. Like so:

I wear size 28 or 30 in the breeches that I have right now. What size would work for Irideon or Kerrits tights or breeches for me?

I have tried lots of breeches, love Topical Riders and I have one pair of Equissentials grip bums, they are like a second skin. I am a 28-30 usually, and buy their small size.

Yes! Kerrits! They are so comfy! I would say you’re either a small or medium. It depends on how snug you want them through the waist. I remember their size chart being pretty accurate.

If you’re looking for something more formal, like for a show or clinic, the FITs breeches are awesome. They aren’t super low rise, have lots of patch options and are quite comfy.

me too (devonaire versailles); i wear the size large kerrits tights, just because i want some extra stretch. (and they look fine and don’t ride up to my armpits or anything. )

Check out FITS Treads Lite breech! Sounds like EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT…

I get you have a disability of some sort (I haven’t read all your threads), but how breeches & boots fit would be better served in Off Course, H/J or Dressage.

You’d reach wider audience as well.

Respectfully disagree, Redmares. She needs suggest from those who have physical issues which often makes certain clothing harder to tolerate.

I like Tropical Rider Enduracools & Toasties Light for winter.

I have two pair of these from back when they were made by “Fuzzy Logic” who was bought out.

I have the boot cut. I wore one pair to work and one pair riding. They are so comfortable, they feel like jammies:)

I have the Fuzzy Logics too and I love them.I always said nothing could beat my bootcut Kerrits but these do.I also have Kerrits.
