Norm is making her own choices, personally, I could sort of live with that. I think.
Good luck Norm! Good luck red_mares!

It’s disappointing, but not unexpected. The brush clearing had to have taken a few days and been really loud. She’ll survive.
Always unexpected, never unappreciated. I don’t remember where I heard or saw it, but that’s Norm.
I hope Norm reappears
If you haven’t been to the Peepycat thread, do check in.
Norm puts me in mind of the old movie Stella Dallas, where the long-suffering Mom from the wrong side of the tracks, after giving her daughter everything, watches her wedding from outside, through a window.
Norm could be Lola’s(Peepycat) WSOTT Mom
Norman is back.
A week ago Thursday, Francine & I were out for a walk by the creek and Norman just appeared. It was late evening, ~8:30, she heard me talking and poof! she appears.
She’s been hanging around for the last week. She was a bit skittish to begin with, but is back to her old self. I’ve been trying to convince her to eat behind the house, since the neighbor’s cat is still here & super territorial. Last night Normii was in her spot on my doorstep when Sammy the Jerk Cat attacked her. His owner came over and chased him. I found little Norm behind the house and made sure she got a midnight snack. She was back there for breakfast at O’dark thirty this morning. I haven’t seen her yet this evening, but it’s still relatively early.
I’m enjoying her company while it lasts. I’m also harboring evil thoughts about relocating the neighbor’s cat.
If the neighbor’s cat isn’t neutered, he could go visit the vet for a few hours. Mine lets them go home the same day, as long as there’s no complications.
He’s already fixed and he’s still a territorial *ss. I’ve watched this cat stalk my Siamese when she’s out for a walk, on a leash with me 2-3 feet away. The only reason he didn’t jump her is he knows I’ll kill him. He’s gotten a little better. He used to pick fights with the two house cats through the storm door. There’s a reason the neighbor threw him out of the house. If there were only a coyote in the area…
Norm is adjusting to the back yard. Over the winter I put up a small greenhouse for the orange tree. If she plays her cards right, she’ll have a heated house.
She’s Baaaaackkkkkkk!
Last night around 10, I opened the front door to take something out to my and car, and there was Norman’s little white blaze, on the front landing, looking for a midnight snack.
Apparently she was tired of the rain. There was no skittishness or hesitancy, just “Here I am, world!” She hollered at me because the initial handful of crunchies was unsatisfactory. Really? Then hung out for at least an hour. I think she had designs on spending the night inside. (not gonna happen.) I’d brought the heated cat mat in from the back yard a few days ago, so it was accessible and dry, so that had to do. Poor cat.
Opened the front door at 5:45 when Gladys got me up, and there she was. Loud little thing, kind of demanding. There’s a good chance she’s been through some poison ivy or something similar. I had tiny itchy little bumps on my hands after petting her last night. They were gone this morning (good PI drugs) and starting back after the morning greeting.
Of course, this time tomorrow I’d like to be on the road. I’ll let my cat sitter know. She might be good with coming by at 10pm to feed Norm. This Darn Cat.
Is there any chance that Norm could write or record a book of all of her adventures? You could get it translated into English. Might be you and Norm’s first million. A NYT best seller! I’d totally buy it and read it.
I’d love to know what she does in her spare time.
Not real skinny this time. I think she’s cheating on me.
What is the magical PI drugs you have? I get really bad PI.
That is amazing that she is back.
The magic PI drug is Clobetasol. It’s a topical steroid. Sadly, when the storms came in last week, Normie went to ground. Another 6 months or so and she’ll return.
