North Texas area dressage trainers?

I’m an experienced (older…um, mature) HJ rider looking for a dressage trainer in the Denton, Aubrey, Flower Mound area. I’ve shown for years on the A circuit and looking to switch over to full time dressage - showing both local level and probably rated. Would love a barn/trainer with great facility and horse care. I already have a horse. I’ve gotten a few names off the local dressage club website, and will be attending some shows soon to spectate - but would love any feedback from forum folks. Thanks!

Hi Rosie, I’d recommend LTR Dressage - Lyndon Rife and Julie Madriguera. I ride with Julie, who comes to our farm regularly for lessons. Their operation is top notch! Highly recommend you check them out. Their farm is up 377, a few minutes off of 380.

I have an aquaintance who is building a facility at her place. It’s located near Hidden Lakes. She is going to board horses also.
They broke ground in April for the covered arena, is what I was told.
Carsten Meyer will be teaching out there.

Really depends on how much support you are looking for. Do you prefer a barn at which the trainer is there every day and has eyes on you? Or do you want biweekly, weekly, bimonthly, or monthly lessons?

Thanks. I know where Hidden Lakes is and that area would work.
I’m looking for lots of support for the time being. Have an experienced dressage horse, but just getting into the discipline myself. So full care barn/training situation would be best.

bumping up - hoping for more comments.

Lyndon Rife/Julie Madriguera are up in that area. Both have regional/some national show successes as well as clients who do well in the shows (and tend to move up/improve as well). Strong focus on horse care/wellness as well. I haven’t ridden with either of them in quite some time due to my own transcontinental moves but would recommend them.

Audrey Steinbach is an excellent trainer…facility near Frisco I think she’s on Facebook, too.

Mary Mather Dressage is around Flowermound somewhere, I hear she’s awesome although I’ve never ridden with her. Collette Sossaman is in Cedar Hill and she is phenomenal.

Sent you a PM with some info
