I am a hunter/eq rider and am looking into possibly taking up dressage on the side or full-time. Who are the best trainers in the area? Do any barns have lesson horses? Are there trainers to stay away from?
Since I only have hunter jumper experience I am not familiar with the dressage scene. A couple of trainers I found from a quick google search were Lyndon Rife and Courtney Mohler. Any input on those? The closer to the Argyle area the better!
I think Maggie Broekman is in Texas, but I’m not sure which part. She’s a great rider and instructor. Not sure if she has any lesson horses.
Lyndon Rife and his wife Julie Madriguera are both great. Not sure of their availability of lesson horses however.
Full disclosure: I was a HJ rider too and ride with Julie, but own my own horse at an outside facility.
