You will need to learn this song… (re: MunchingonHay’s reference)[/QUOTE]

Haha, I was going to try to find this and post it too! I love this movie!! I think I need to own it…so hilarious!

I am surprised they are so expensive, but maybe because the litters are typically small? I suppose that must make it hard to find them, in comparison to my breed, where litters are typically 7-9 puppies.

Why are they typically c-section? Just curious because I helped whelp a litter of only 4 brittany puppies and the bitch needed an emergency c-section for the last 2 puppies. We wondered if the small litter size contributed to the uterine inertia – in comparison to a litter of 7-9? Just curious…it’s not very common for brittanys to have such small litters so we wondered if there was a connection.

I was told this by a breeder because of the size of their heads. I have no personal experience, just relating what she told me.

I know someone else who was trying to get one and she lived on a horse farms. The people she contacted said they wouldn’t sell to her as she lived on a farm and it was too dangerous for the dog. Again, this is what I was told but who knows, maybe the breeders just didn’t want to sell to her.

I used to breed Border Terriers and in our family we often sing the " God loves a terrier" song. As for terriers around horses, one has to spend the time to teach them respect and to stay out of the way. Regardless of breed, puppies need to stay away until they learn how to be sensible around horses.

That’s interesting about the c-sections. I looked it up and they do seem to have higher than normal rates. I also found this study and was surprised at some of the breeds on it - seriously Scotties and Corgis?

We have zero plans to breed this dog. Not that they will be together anyway, but now that my Shiba is neutered, there is no chance of them having an “oops” before she is spayed. OMG what ugly puppies those would be… Shiwiches? Noribas? :winkgrin:

I will return this afternoon - hopefully with puppy pics.

Shewitch? :lol::lol::lol:

OMG they were adorable. I have a pic of the whole herd of them staring at us through the window. I have to get the pics off the camera though so you’ll have to wait!
We didn’t bring the puppy home yet. She had a bit of a sniffle and they had taken her to the vet this morning. It’s nothing serious, but they weren’t keen on letting her leave with it, and I thought it a good idea to not stress her out more. She sure didn’t act sick though so it was hard to leave her.
Very cute doggies. They remind me of wombats. :smiley:

The one from the dog show remembered me. He was like, “HIHIHIHIHIHIHIHI… HI!”

so much for ‘just looking’

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Ok, I’m back with a couple pics. I wish the one of them outside the window had turned out better, but my camera picked up the screen.

I had a Norwich named Jake as a little girl. He was one of the best dogs I’ve ever had, and I would own another one in a heartbeat if I had the money. He was incredibly smart, and so very loyal. Through my entire childhood, he was my personal protector. If my parents ever yelled at me, he barked at them and gave them a piece of his mind :slight_smile:

I’m not much for small dogs, but Jake never had the personality of a small dog. If you asked him, he weighed 100 lbs, and no one could tell him any different.

Best of luck with your new family member! I hope she brings you as many years of joy as Jake brought me. :slight_smile:

Norwich’s aren’t something you can just go ‘look’ and not want to take one or TEN of them home. :lol::lol:

When my female Springer Spaniel died suddenly I knew I wanted a smaller dog…Norwich Terriers were on the top of my list, then I found out how much they cost! Yikes, $3K…I just couldn’t justify it, so we got our Corgi instead and love her to pieces! Good luck!

My mom is still trying to decide. I admit, they were making me tired with all their zipping around. I love puppies, but I always forget how much energy they have.
