Sunday will be the big day! The new track in Sweden will have its first big raceday and I am so excited! It looks great and I hope it will be the start for something really good!

Exciting! Are there currently other racetracks in Sweden?
Yes, six actually. One is only dirt (JÀgersro in Malmö, southern Sweden.) Gothenburg (only turf). Bro Park is the new one with both turf and dirt. And then we have Strömsholm, GÀrdet and Blommeröd but they only race once a year.

Superb! You all have a few harness tracks, too. A mare I used to take care of raced in your Elitlopp (a long time ago).
Harness racing is very big here, but I prefer the TBs. I always watch Elitloppet on Tv though
I just learned that there are two way they spell the Elitloppe . Did I use the U.S. spelling, Johanna, or what makes for the difference in spelling?
I was a harness horse groom for ten (wonderful) years. I love both standardbreds and thoroughbreds. Standardbred are really nice to work around and, often, pretty strong/sturdy.
Elitloppet (literally: âThe Elite Raceâ) or Solvallas Internationella Elitlopp is an annual, invitational Group One harness event that has taken place at Solvalla Racetrack in Stockholm, Sweden since 1952.[1] The competition is regarded as one of the most prestigious international events in trotting.
Just a grammatic difference, we donât have the word âtheâ so we change the ending of words instead. Only trotters here no pacers.

Regarding the mare I used to groom, I had her after the Elitlopp. She had led to the 3/4, then faded. She was an extreme puller and would have been a much greater racehorse if she could be rated better. She was still spectacular. She was huge, a beautiful black color and finely gated.
I am much more of a trotter person than pacer. The coordination and gait of a nice trotter is amazing and so very beautiful.
