Winter is back again in some weird ways - I have flu, Peter is coughing and we have snow all around us. But Peter is determined… :slight_smile:

It’s only me who is really annoyed and Peter who just want to ride (some kind of spring horse fever)

If you mean flu - sorry to hear it !
What is that nasty thing tying Peter’s horse’s head to her chest ???
Will your swans return ?

It is some kind of chambon - it is elastic and did not seem to be nasty. Works similar like martingale. Horse is 4 yo and need a lot of training. The trainer is nice and soft and all horses there are very sweet and loving, not a fearful bunch. I’m not an expert at all and if trainer puts it on it is there.

I do not know about OUR swans yet - will they return or not. Our babies will spend the coming summer far North - this breed does it for the bachelor year before they mature and are able to establish a family. So if they will return to us, it might happen only 2010 or even 2011.

Ours have large neck collars on with numbers and I had been promised to get info if they will be spotted by ornithologists.

Do you remember how it was when you got the horse fever for the first time? How long it lasted?
It is over a year now here and I’m getting a bit frustrated with my dear husband. Tonight again I needed to go down to search for him to stables and quess where he was again - sleeping like a baby in Giva’s box. QUOTE]

Pictures please!!:lol::lol:

Pictures please! :yes::yes:

allpurpose, it is not a lovely sight - he as wearing knitted jumper and looked like some hay hedgehog and quite wet as Giva was washing him all over :smiley: But OK< next time I will make some pictures - it will definitely put off others from such sleeping habits.

Do you realize Peter is living many little girls’ dream? sleeping with a horse in the same stall… lucky Peter!!!

We have new rescue who arrived last night.
His pre-story is here

He is such a sweetie! To humans and horse and seems that Giva is in love! :slight_smile:

Anna, how is Puika dealing with a new male in the herd? I would assume that Giva is keeping order among the herd… Also, which Hanoverian stallion line did you choose for Giva? I really enjoy your updates!

Anna ???

It’s not like you not to post in so long. Everything ok?

You must have missed the post from Anna in the “Around the Farm” forum where she said she had to go to England because her father in law was dying. Peter was already there and took ill.

I hope Peter has recovered and that we will hear from Anna soon.

I’m sorry, I did miss that one.
Prayers to you Anna & Peter.

Ohmigosh, I missed that too. I am so sorry to learn of such sad news.

Major healing thoughts to Peter so that he may be riding his beloved Giva very soon… I am sure that she is missing him greatly.

Anna, any update? Are you all okay? I am starting to really worry now. How is Peter? Are you back at home? Please update if you can…
We are thinking of you.

I too am very concerned…

Jingling

Sending jingles to Anna and Peter…I hope they’re not needed but just in case…

I’m hoping that it’s just busy around your place since it’s spring and you’ve been unable to post???

Thank you all! I’m still in Somerset, UK, and will be going home on 15th May only. Peter had recovered now but he had a really hard time on top of his father’ s death. I’m in UK to sort out things and taking his mother back to us. Will let you know how things are then, but at least being here gave me a chance to see Grand National race :slight_smile: Thanlk you all for your concern! And a quick info - the latest boy that we rescued is doing great - no signs of wobbler at all - he is nervous, had been ridden badly but other than that he is great.

So good to hear from you. Still jingling hard for all of you. The best thing for Peter will be the horse therapy when you get home!
Thinking of you still…

Hi to you all! I’m back from UK, and back here! I missed you all so much so now I will try to read all interesting things that I had missed.

All is OK here, and Shella had not foaled yet - what a good girl, she has been waiting for me - all this time I was really worried that I might miss out the arrival of our first foal.

And Peter has started to jump Giva and the new boy - Guido. Both are keen, happy but need a lot of job - that’s OK, Peter needs a lot of equine terapy at present moment. I’m sure, horses do understand when their humans are in sorrows. Even the new boy is really, really loving and caring.

Shella is huge, due on May 26th, and Peter already has started night trips to barn “just in case”. Tomorrow I will start putting the foaling kit together in a bag so it will be ready for the big event.

It is sooo good to be back at home!
