Nurse Mare/Frozen Mare Milk Available - Central TX

We were contacted in January by a distraught mare owner in our area who had just lost his lovely QH cutting horse mare just after the birth of her foal. He asked if we had a nurse mare available. I have two nice mares I use as recipient mares which were both open at the time.

I induced lactation in one of the recipient mares for use with his orphan foal but a few days into her hormone treatments to induce lactation, the foal’s owner decided rather than pay to feed the mare he would use milk replacer and bucket feed the foal instead.

I now have a lactating mare who adores foals which we are milking twice a day as well as a freezer full of stored mare milk in breast milk storage bags if anyone in the Boerne/San Antonio/central Texas area is in need. Contact me if you are interested.
