NY/Baseball/Peanuts themed show names?!

Just purchased a very large, grey 6yo OTTB gelding.

I don’t like his racing name, so that’s off the table. Any suggestions for me?

My best/favorite horse’s show name started with a ‘Kn’, but I can’t think of much other than ‘Knight’ and he’s too much of a goofball to be any sort of knight anyway…

I also have had a few pets named after Peanuts characters, or with NY sports affiliations (mostly baseball).

Most of the names I’ve come up with would be fabulous, for a mare. My last gelding (who looked like a mare!) also had a girly barn name, don’t want to have the same fate fall upon the newbie!

Any help would be amazing!

Knuckleball?? Knock One Out??

Yankee, Cracker Jack, Heat, Bring the Heat, The Deuce, Line Drive, Double Play, Starting Lineup, Pop Fly

Seriously, you can’t ask for names related to NY sports without specifying Mets or Yankees.

YANKEES

The obvious (only) choice

I love knuckleball btw, that is fabulous!

HOLY COW.

Knickerbocker. Double Play. Full Count. Big Leagues. Bronx Bomber. Empire. Keystone (as in, “keystone sack” or 2nd base). Line Drive.

That’s all I’ve got for now.

^^ I should have known. (O’s fan here)

Knickerbocker is great too. You didn’t ask for a barn name, but he could be “Knick” or just “Nick”

Silver Slugger
Gold Glove
Hot Corner
Triple Play
Over the Wall
Leadoff Man
Top of the Order
Heart of the Order
Anchor Spot
Designated Hitter
The Commissioner
That’s Big League

Tinker Evers Chance

I know I know it is CUBS but I think it would be a cute name.

The Red Baron (would be better if he was a chestnut, though  )
Joe Cool

Bleacher Creature

Evil Empire? Sorry, can’t resist. Big sox fan.

Sox fan here.

Seriously, though, how about “Jeter” for a barn name? Then the show name could be “Yankee Captain.”

(I can’t believe I’m suggesting Yankee names for a horse–gag. I hope you appreciate this.)

I think even the most loyal of Sox fans can recognize Jeter as a good guy. If the horse had failed his PPE and bloodwork showed that he was loaded with drugs you could have named him A-Rod.

Pinstripe.

My dad always pulled for the Yankees. Being first generation Italian, he was a big DiMaggio fan.

Centerfield. Isn’t the centerfielder supposed to be the best athlete?

Thanks All!

My old horse’s name was Knickerbocker, so while I LOVE that name, I don’t that would be fair to call the new guy that as well (although it would allow me to keep a bunch of show pads… ;))

I like Centerfield a lot! I am still recovering from the loss of Curtis Granderson, our CF, to the Mets (hey, better than the Sox though!)

But thanks to Sox fans for the suggestions as well, I thought about ‘Big Papi’ for a second, due to how large new horse is, but decided it would fit a Clyde better than a grey TB

Also, LOVE the A-Rod reference, amazing

Mr. Met
Grand Slam

Bobby Thompson (heh! heh! Giants fan here)

Billy Buck (another snicker)

Let’s Play Two

Centerfield (thanks, John Fogerty!)

The Mick

Short Stop “Shorty” for a play on his height

Last year, I had a Double Play, a Grand Slam, and a Major League in the barn.
