He certainly does seem to have bad luck. Hope he comes through this unscathed.
Fingers crossed recovery goes smoothly. At least he has a month and a half until breeding season to get some rest.
my horse had colic surgery and I couldn’t start her back to work until 8 weeks. Hope he’s well healed at start of breeding season.

snaffle1987, did you see an article somewhere on this? I’d been looking but hadn’t seen any update other than the ones immediately after surgery.
direct from the farm. surgery was about as routine as it could have been. very small twist which was taken care of immediately. no major surgery or removal of tissue involved. he was returned to the farm shortly after and has been doing well was the last update I received.
I don’t breed Thoroughbreds but he wouldn’t be high on my list to breed to. He never was a particularly healthy horse as far as soundness and durability went. Nice horse and super glad his surgery wasn’t more severe

Glad it wasn’t anything significant. IMO, don’t think I’d hold colic against any horse as an indication of overall health. I think it can get any horse
