He looks pretty spring-loaded in the video!

I have questions.

Is there a way to watch the bidding online tomorrow? And do they sell in numerical order? And if so, what time will they probably get to the end of the list on Thursday?

And in the results, what do the prices mean that are in parentheses or that have a PS after them?

Also, I noticed that most of the work times ranged from either 10-11 or 20-22ish. So I’m guessing those horses worked at different distances.

But just about every horse that went under 10 was listed with the same time of 9.4, except for I think one that said 9.3. What’s up with that?

Thanks in advance.

The parenthesis did not sell. See how it says RNA under buyer? That’s reserve not attained. The horse was bid up to the price shown but that was short of the reserve, so the horse didn’t sell.

PS means private sale. The horse was purchased after bidding for the price shown.

There is one more day of bidding tomorrow. Yes, you can watch online. It’ll probably finish in the evening. It looks like they’re starting at 11.

You can watch it live on the OBS YouTube channel.
I believe they also stream it on their website.

The @10 second works are 1/8 mile, the @20 second works are 1/4 mile.

So what about the handful of horses who clocked right at 9.4? Were they really that much faster than all the others that went around 10 and change?

Thanks, everybody!!

yes. worthy to note that the horses who breezed on day 1 of the breeze show faced pretty strong head winds which resulted in some slower times for a lot of nice horses.

Looking at the birthdates of some of these horses; scares me that some of them are breezing this efficiently and they do not turn 2 until May.

1/8th of a mile is a furlong and US races are measured in 1/8th mile furlongs. 12 seconds a furlong is kind of a benchmark and most race times are between….ohhhh…21-26 seconds so you get fractions like “the quarter in 23 half in 47”. Later fractions tend to be a little slower as they tire but sometimes you see “ran last 1/4 in 22” which would be notable even if that one did not catch the winner.

If you are at the track in the mornings you may hear things like “3/4, give me 12s and I will be happy”.

Anyway, 9 3/4 is blazing (QH time) but it’s 1/8th of a mile with a 21-23 month old destined for 5-9 furlong races sooo…

I was surprised to hear the Eddie Woods will be retiring after the next sale?

Why?
