Obscure saddle stand search - the saddle stand you can sit on to try a saddle - where for the love of god!?

I’ve seen these in nice tack shops and I’d like to buy one but I’m not seeing any for sale in the US. Hoping the collective wisdom of this group can solve this mystery. For background, I moved to a super wet area and we have no covered, I literally want to sit in my saddle over the soggy winter while I watch The Sopranos (yes, very, very late to this show lol).

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

It looks like Etsy is your best bet. For example:

I saw those but I can’t imagine actually using it to sit in a flocked saddle. I was hoping to find something like this: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Equiracks-Saddle-Rack-Fit-Up-Stand-Injection-Molded-Steel-Gray-SFS/134345397

Two vendors have online if you Google and click shopping. Don’t know how reliable they are.

I’m not seeing anything similar beyond the Cool Horse one. I’ve emailed them to see if they still sell the molded cover like the one featured at Walmart, will report back to the thread when I hear from them.

That one looks amazing but it’s a couple thousand bucks, too rich for my blood!

I’ve been looking for one as well. They must buy those huge plastic ones somewhere…but where?

Pricey, but you could practice your polo swing too! https://www.saddle-stands.com/polo-pony/saddle15-02/polo-pony.html

Many years ago I made a wood saddle stand with an upholstered top. It is not rounded, just a 90 degree angle. When I had a spare saddle I would sit on it quite a bit with a couple hand towels to shim up the front. I never noticed any issues with my flocking.

I had a Calico trailer with saddle racks in it in the molded plastic shape. I wonder if any of the trailer makers sell spare parts for the saddle rack and then you could have a carpenter mount it to a stand.

Do you think that one is sturdy enough to sit on? It doesn’t look big enough or sturdy enough - I’ve looked at that, just haven’t pulled the trigger.

Have you asked actual saddle shops where they got theirs?

You can see some up for auction (and selling V cheaply) on https://www.proxibid.com/

Man, I was getting all excited about the DSS Dynamic Saddle Stand. Everywhere on my web search has it as out of stock, don’t know when there will be more, BUMMER.

I have the Home Horse https://www.homehorse.com. I can sit on it (teetering severely), two and three point, and post with it. I can do this either “bareback”, with a saddle ignoring the stirrups, and with the saddle using the stirrups. I can move my hips and mimic the movement of the horse’s back at a walk.

I am up to using it 20 minutes a day. After my “ride” my torso and thighs feel like they have been EXERCISED!

The HH is not “perfect” and the DSS Dynamic Saddle Stand looked like it could give me more. And already had half the cost saved up.

From what I saw on the video of the DSS and what I’ve experience with the Home Horse I could probably replicate most of what I do on horseback since I do not jump anymore.

Oh well, unless they make the DSS again I will just go on saving for an Equicizer, but that costs twice what the DSS cost when it was made.

SNIFF!!!

In my living room my Home Horse looks quite elegant with my ancient Crosby wide front PDN on it. I try to ride it every day I do not ride a real horse.
