Off Course - WAY Off Course ("Let's Go Skiing")

Sooooo you can read my misadventures with a bad horse match, a bad trainer match, and the assorted injuries to my rear end as well as my feelings over in the h/j topic.

After all that - and ALL of your absolutely amazing and appreciated advice - the “F This” switch flipped in my brain.

I mentioned my son is 8 and on our local ski race team? He’s been invited to do the full season next season (he had previously done development level), and I’m going to sign up for the Master’s ski program. It is scheduled around the kids because it is mostly going to be ski team parents. So I’ll be skiing 3x a week this winter, which is kind of nuts, but maybe it will fill a little of that “need adrenaline” void since I’m not riding at the moment.

On the horse front - trainer friend has month to month leases over at her eventing barn, so when (if?) I’m ready to go back, I have a low pressure, very chill barn to go to, lease, and jump around some little stuff.

I know I have a couple ski friends in here. Should we have an adult ammy ski race, where it is just us trying to not die and make it to the end of the course? Haha. Kidding. Kind of.

I think you need to take up skijoring (sp). Get your horse and skiing fix all in one shot! LOL

Ha! My aunt sent me a clip of this from Colorado, it looks pretty fun!

Back when I’d ride a horse hell bent for election, I would have gladly done the riding part. I’m useless at skiing, except for maybe cross country. Don’t put me on a hill! LOL
