Ogilvy Hunter Pad

I’m considering purchasing the Ogilvy hunter pad over the regular jump half pad. Does anyone have any photos of the hunter pad under saddle? I can only find photos of it alone, but I am trying to see how much it shows. I event, but am not a fan of the way the larger half pads look.

The hunter pad is fairly invisible under a saddle. The edges line up with (or are within) the edges of the fitted pad. It’s perfect for showing as the pad is very discreet. That having been said, I wouldn’t choose to use it for every day…it’s a little harder to get it lined up just right because there is no extra pad on the sides. Also, I personally don’t think it would look good used with a square pad.

That having been said, I have heard that Ogilvy is redesigning their hunter pad, so what I say may not be relevant.

A close friend of mine had one of those hunter pads. She sent it back for a jumper version. Her saddle panels were too wide for the pad and it was creating pressure points beneath the saddle. It was extremely discreet but, for her saddle, it didn’t work.

It may work with a saddle with different panels. My older courbette and stubben swallowed the pad but it fit my crosby well.

Thanks! I hadn’t thought about it not being able to work with certain saddles. I assumed it was a ‘one size fits all’ type of deal. I’ll look into the jumper pads more, then. Also, is there a huge difference between the gummy and memory foam? My saddle fits my horse pretty well, but isn’t completely perfect. He also changes shape a bit as he builds muscle throughout the season. I read that you can’t wash the gummy pads, which is annoying.
