Oh boy... This should be fun. (But nervous anyway) Link to Pics in last post

So I am going out tomorrow after a sebatical of a year and a half.

I left my hunting job in April of 2010, and now a friend from the hunt has asked me to come on out and be her stand in groom and ride along and help with 3 kids under age 12 as her current groom is ill. Hunt approved and so Lad and I will be going hunting.

I am excited and the only thing on my mind is not making eye contact with former boss if she happens to be out. Ride my horse, hang with the kids and enjoy the life I am so privileged to have.

Also very excited for Lad. He’s been prepping with paper chases and group trail rides but this will be his first time. All good, he loves one of the ponies going with us, (was snuggling against him during paper chase) and I don’t think we’ll be running and gunning!

Wish us luck!

Lots of luck!!!

And of course we will want a hunt report!!

And photos.

No THAT sounds like a fun job!! Enjoy and don’t be intimadated by your old boss!!! You now have an eviable position!! Sit tall!!

Onward and Upward

Be gracious, sit tall, and be the Lady in your mind. The mental image will carry you well. It’s just like the “method” acting and bio-feed back imaging used for eventing.

It will change the dynamics of encounter.

Please give us the hunt report. We will be sending you postive thoughts…

Ok let me see if I can make this short…

HE WAS AWESOME!!! No ace, regular caveson, french link snaffle, standing. (So I’d have a neck strap)

He did very well. We started from Laurels at landhope and set off slowly. I liked that around the first field we went through, he trotted when all horses around him were cantering.

The hunt played out well as the first hour we just moved from field to road to woods to field without jumps. He was very well behaved and easily understood stopping when the horse in front of you stops.

We didn’t do many jumps today but he did them well. Late in the hunt he got a little rammy and thought he was a timber horse with high knees and long spots. Ehh, no harm no foul. And I took that as a sign to bring him in for the day. So he did 2 hours out with Cheshire. Not bad for a newbie!!

No comments to be said (publically) about the other thing. I have a great horse and life so that’s the most important thing to remember.
