well as I have posted twice before now … there is a trainer in the area who has more than a few screws loose and is literally loosing sanity with the fact I wont give/sell her my horse. I mean, I like him, he is a nice horse, but god he is not THAT special!

the trainer received a certified letter from my uncle who is a lawyer just to prove we DO NOT want her contacting us further. she received it, we got the receipt from it, and have not heard from her since, nor seen her. (Although she did have an ad up looking for a tall black tb-type gelding on craigslist:lol: i found it funny) Tommy has been chipped, I have a file of photos/paperwork ready to go just in case. But I am sure I will see her at the local shows, but I will do my best to avoid her at them and if there is a problem, I will be the first to notify whoever necessary.
So the saga continues with not her, but her little protege and her family.
I was at the tack shop this weekend to get a pair of gloves (p.s. I HATE mice!). And I know I for one cannot walk into a tack shop and go directly to what I am looking for, despite the fact I know exactly where it is. Of course we have to do a loop through the whole place just to see. So I walked into a room where an interestingly dressed mother and her little daughter are trying tall boots on. As I go through, they stop talking, and just stare at us (I had my friend and corgi with me). I have no idea who they are at this point, but it gave me the creeps.
So I head through the boot area and into the sales part when I see the mom walking towards us. I am pulling coolers out of a sale bin when the woman walks right up to me and starts going off:eek:
she proceeds to tell me how I was a horrible person for agreeing to give them my horse, then jacking up the price, then backing out on the deal all together. How could I do that to their daughter? I should be ashamed of myself and not be able to attend the shows without being embarassed, because if she has anything to do with it, the whole circuit will hear about it! Then she goes on to say how her daughter is this fabulous rider now jumping 3’9 … (I guess she learned those leads!:lol:) … and they were able to find a nice black Arapintaloosa (yes … in all honesty she used that word to try to brag about her horse. i think she thought it was a real, rare, exotic breed) for her daughter. and I better plan on spending thousands of dollars in training if I want to win, because they are going to be “unstoppable” ! Then she said how their trainer had told them how I was not forthcoming with tommy’s issues and soundness. And how she is so glad they did not get stuck cleaning up his mess

seriously? How does this happen to me! lol, do I have a crazy magnet on my back!?!? I guess I was right that their “trainer” was feeding them all sorts of crazy lies about tommy. I promptly told her that he was NEVER for sale, and tried to be civil about what I thought about said trainer. How I never needed to share any details about my horse with any of them because HE WAS NOT FOR SALE! That is when the shit hit the fan, and all hell broke loose. She completely lost it! Went off screaming “how dare I blame this on their trainer when I am the one with the unethical morals who is able to crush a 12yro’s dreams of going to the olympics!”

I am sorry , my horse is a good boy, he tries, but he will not be going to the olympics … and do I really have to say it, but I dont think not having tommy is what is holding their daughter back! I was completely taken back by this. I have stated before, I HATE confrontation, I do not do well in situations like that. And the fact that this woman who was over twice my age was standing in a public place screaming at me, a 17yro was really upsetting to me. I have a good reputation in the area. I am very responsible, MANY people trust me with the care of their horses, many people call me for help, questions, etc. I honestly do think I am very mature for my age and can handle difficult situations, but I really was not ready for this. I was infuriated, but refused to sink to her level and shout out in public like that. Thankfully my friend was with me and he stepped in. He had no idea what was going on as he doesn’t know the story, but he tried. He was able to get her to calm down enough to speak rationally with me.
In the end nothing was accomplished. She still thinks I am the devil who is out to ruin their daughter, and their trainer is god. but I told her I would be glad to forward her the emails from their trainer to prove I was not the one making this mess, it was her. And that the authorities were involved already with harassment, and I would be happy to add her to that complaint if she continued. she wanted none of it, and eventually shut up. It basically ended with her saying to be ready for competition, because she thinks “we can settle this in the ring” … SETTLE WHAT!?! I want no part of settling ANYTHING! On second thought, I HAVE NOTHING TO SETTLE!
I am still in shock really. It was embarrassing for me b/c as she was screaming pretty much the whole tack shop stopped and stared. I am glad I kept my cool and didn’t yell back. But at the same time this is getting so old now. I do not want this to turn into something that will make me dread going to shows and the tack shops and feed stores, etc.
I called my uncle, and my policeman friend. Nothing can really be done. they say look at it as some crazy mother indecent and let it slide, but the incident will be added to my file for the trainer just in case.
