Hope all of you escaped the wrath of the tornadoes. I saw video footage from a news helicopter, hovering above what looked like a barn with the roof completely blown off. The newscasters were amazed that the horses were all OK - standing there eating with their blankets on in each of their stalls.
out in west Texas near where Bluey is there was a recorded wind gust of 114 MPH
it rained mud here in Fort Worth, the dust from west Texas just turned to mud in the rain
I saw on Facebook that Feather Creek Farm in Norman, OK suffered a direct hit. Thankfully all the horses are alive and unhurt. I don’t have any personal connection to them so I don’t know any details beyond what is on Facebook. The pictures of the barn are insane. So scary.
@firecracker, those photos look just like the footage from the helicopter. Roof blown completely off, horses in stalls being calm (even with the helicopter). So glad to hear that the horses all seem safe.
@clanter, @Bluey : we have microbursts all summer long in Phoenix. Nothing to joke about. The force will snap the trunk of a mature tree like a twig.
Tornadoes started right East of us, three hit and then the storms grew big time into OK.
We knew when we were reaching 80+ mph winds East would be getting it hard.
Thursday we have a chance of showers after lunch and turning to snow by evening.
Guess winter doesn’t want to quite give it up to spring storms yet.
I also hope those hit in OK are able to manage, the news video looked rough.
