What does the “OLD” after a stallion’s name designate? For example, Fiderbach OLD?
Oldenburg
A designation given by the German Oldenburg Society. Can be given to mare or stallion. See description in this article. Basically the best of the best.

That depends. Some publications will automatically put OLD after any horse that is registered with Oldenburg.
It should be used as a designation of exceptional quality, not simply as a breed identifier. If it’s being used this way, that isn’t correct. What publications use “OLD” after every Oldenburg horse they refer to? That is very strange.

Isn’t fashion designer OLD a gelding?
It is an award given to ambassador’s of the breed. It shouldn’t be put after the name of a horse that hasn’t received it.
It’s a special designation for horses the Oldenburg Verband feels are good ambassadors for the registry (preferably in sport). It can be given to a stallion, mare, or gelding. It should not be used for a horse that hasn’t had it officially bestowed.
Thank you…that is what I thought, but was not sure.
I think you have to make a distinction between those 2 situations.
OLD when part of the name may be ‘the best of the best’ within the breed.
But OLD can also stand for each horse registered in the OLD stud-book, in this case it’s not part of the name.

Upon second reading, yes it can also be a gelding. Need better glasses…

I had my mare stabled next to him at a recent show.
LOVELY horse.
