2ndyrgal,

Are you looking for a 3rd horse? How are your shoulders doing?

I have gelding by Wellington (also sired Farrington)

I’m on the fence about keeping Trooper, because I don’t know how much hunting I’ll be doing. I’m probably going to switch and do a lot more dressage (I miss Marci!) and while he’s got nice, swingy, forward gaits and goes into the bridle nicely, he is a big, paint, draft cross with a head like a cross between a buffalo and a moose. He’s fun and mannerly, not nearly as sweet as Junior, but all “yes maam” under saddle. That said, he’s not really a “dressage horse”.

I’ll keep the little quarter horse to have fun and friends on. I’ll probably sell Trooper and get a quiet, made, dressage horse that doesn’t mind riding out a bit.

I miss Junior’s personality much more than I thought I would. Even if he was really frustrating under saddle a lot of the time.

Both horses are down at Cathy W’s until the end of next month as I’m still rehabbing both shoulders. Right one is pretty good, left one is as they expected and s l o w e r than I want, strength in both right now is nil, so we’re just now starting on that.

The barn’s been really empty and I can’t wait til they get back.

Oooh, I like the Gelderlanders.
