Old Style "Flare" Britches in Va????

Ran into a guy at the gas station with the old-style “flare” britches. He had obviously come from a hunt, thus why I post the question here.

I asked him where he got them…he said “horse connection” near Warrenton Va. I cannot find such a place. Any suggestions?

I was lusting…old style canary britches with flares and NO LEATHER…ohhhhh…

Maybe it was horse country…is there such a place?

He’s probably talking about Horse Country; which is in Warrenton and does sell the flared old timey britches. However, I think they only sell them in white. Maybe tan as well. Don’t think they do canary.

The guy I ride with picked his up from the Tack Exchange.

They could be “tan”…basically a khaki color…I found the Horse Country catalog…and they show them with 3-buckle boots…my 3-buckle Dehners will have company…ohhhh…this is great!

Many thanks…!!!

I’ve purchased products from both companies and they both produce good quality merchandise (at least in their clothign lines, including gloves: I’ve not purchased boots or other gear from them).

Amazingly, Ralph Lauren made some wonderful cotton flared britches with laced lower legs. Amazing quality…I managed to find a bunch of them at a regular clothing store for $10 each (they didn’t know what they were and were happy to get them sold).

If you can find some of these, grab all you can.

In case anyone is in the Middleburg area and interested in some old school flared canary breeches, the Tack Exchange had three (used) pairs in stock. Yes, while I did refrain from buying some, I did try a pair on and was thoroughly amused!

Ooooooooooo - the tack exchange, you say???

Methinks I hear some britches calling my name…

Tack Exchange, indeed! Two pairs were wool if I recall correctly, and I believe the third was moleskin. The wool pair I tried had a button up front and everything.

If I were just a little more adventurous…

I think I know what you are talking about and I have a lady’s pair from HC, sorta canary but I tend to refer to them as “wheat” colored for some reason. Really like them and they come in men’s as well, made of some Italian fabric I think and oh-so-warm! Heads up - there is a man’s pair at the Tack Exchange just now for $99! (size 30-32)

These are fabulous - have seen them at Saddlery Liquidators - many pairs of them too - a friend got a pair and loves them for summer wear. Surprising, coming from RL, how correct they are too. He must have done his homework before designing them!

I say go for it! I doubt you will regret it - I am seeing them more and more of them and far prefer them for both comfort and looks than the skin tight breeches (that leave nothing to one’s imagination). They will add some classy distinction to anyone’s hunting kit!

What? They are at Saddlery Liquidators?

Hold on a sec - gotta write all this stuff down. Ok. Got it.

Birthday is coming up, doncha know.
