Oldenburg registry database in Germany

I have recently come across an Oldenburg mare that I would like to find out more about, starting with her bloodlines. I know her name, her sire and that she was born in Germany but that is as far as my information goes.

I have been trying to find a comprehensive public database where I could search her by her name but cannot seem to do so. I found some limited databases, but nothing that would encompass all German-born Oldenburg horses. Is there even such a thing?

I am located in Europe and our national registry is also of no use.

Any suggestions where I could look? Thanks

Did horsetelex have anything?

You can always contact the Oldenburg Verband and ask.

Try this site: https://sporthorse-data.com/ I recently bought a mare who was imported at six months, and her auction name had been entered.

The verband is very helpful to anyone trying to get information. BTDT.

I tried to contact them about four months ago for information on a form that wasn’t updated, and I’m still waiting for an answer.

That does not make sense. The Verband is very responsive. There are lots of emails on their website. Just email them!

I emailed them. Many people email them. If you have received prompt responses to inquiries, you are among the few.

I’ve always gotten prompt responses from the German office.

Thank you! I did find her in Horsetelex, which also indicated that she has something (or is something?) called “Staatsprämie”, sounds fancy  Anyone know what that means?

She was not in the Sporthorse database, I suspect because she was never competed.

It means “States Premium.” From the GOV website: “The process for a mare to be selected for the Oldenburg Elite Mare Show begins with the March inspections which take place every year. Out of hundreds of 3 and 4 year old mares that are inspected by the Oldenburg Verband in Germany, only a select group are invited to go on to the Mare Performance Test. Out of those mares, around 100 are awarded the States Premium Candidate title, and then out of these States Premium Candidates, approximately 60 are invited to the Mare Show in Rastede.”

Horse Telex and Sporthorse-Data are both databases that rely on user input. So if a horse isn’t on one of the sites, it’s because no one put them there. There is no one working for those sites who sits and makes sure every European horse gets entered.
