Older custom Dehner boots

So, I have these French calf Dehner boots, purchased 35 years and 35# ago. Does anyone have experience with a boot surgeon that might make the calf work again?

I have the same boots, only they were purchased in 1967! I took them to the local tack shop and had them stretched about 15 years ago but ended up not wearing them because they were so short compared to today’s boots. They are sitting on my closet shelf and still look gorgeous though, I was told they were only able to stretch such old boots because the lining was still so supple, otherwise there is a danger in splitting the boot so you might want to look into that before you have any work done.

You can send the boots back to Dehner and have them altered. They will need your current measurements.

My Dehners are 31 years old, and still look fabulous. I had front zippers put in, and at the same time we added Spanish tops, so they’re tall and easy to get on/off. The boots have held up better than my back has, so the zippers are really a necessity. You can have gussets added when you add the zippers, if need be, the cobbler just needs to know your calf dimensions.

Dehner will not alter old boots. I asked them. 30 + years and 30+ pounds ago I bought custom top of the line boots from Dehner. They still look gorgeous in the box but no way would my legs fit now. I am not sure they would fit altered though. Maybe I can lose that weight…

Didn’t know Dehner wouldn’t take older boots.
