Older Kiefer Trailers (2000s) - quality issues?

For various reasons I am looking at an '04 Kiefer slant. This particular trailer is interesting to me because it does NOT have a rear tack, which I would rather not have.

However, I’ve heard that prior to some bankruptcy or somesuch, there were a few years in the early 2000s where these were not well made.

Can anyone with a pre-2007 Kiefer comment on the build quality/longevity/any issues you have had?

Since this is a fourteen year old trailer and I guess it has been used not parked for fourteen years I would think if there was a blatant manufacturing flaw it would have surfaced by now (welds breaking and such)

If you are to preform a standard due diligence inspection of any trailer if there was a problem it should be found.

I had one of the early 2000s Kiefer Built trailers - if memory serves, mine was an '01. It was a Genesis which I think was their higher end model. Mine had problems with the floor. Significant pitting and a small hole that went thru the floor. Before everyone jumps on me about keeping the floor clean - I did. There were also a number of the floor supports that had broken welds. Kiefer did pay to repair those but within a month or so, I had more broken welds and they weren’t the newly repaired welds.

There was was also an issue with the doors on some of their models but that might pre-date '04

I have a 2005 Kiefer Genesis. I love it. I bought it last year. No issues so far… knock on wood. It is due for it’s annual look-over and state inspection.
