A western saddle came my way a few months back. It’s an Ozark barrel saddle (I assume not like the newer ones) - it says “Saddle King Line - Waco, Texas” on it and is all leather with a rough-out seat and round skirt. It’s fairly light. I finally got to ride on it briefly and it sure is comfy. Is anyone familiar with this brand? It doesn’t look like the newer ones online. Do you know about what it is worth?
Ozark Leather Company sells all kinds if Items, Saddles are one of them, the Saddle King of Texas Lineup.
Ozark is a reseller and has had many companies making Saddles for them over the years, some are basic, some are good, some are very good.
I have met a couple of companies that made saddles for them at one time.
Post a pic of the Saddle, someone may recognize it.

That is interesting, I didn’t realize they are more than a saddlery. I will take some pics but it won’t be until next week because I lent it out this week. I am just curious about it since I know nothing other than what the tag says.
Very cool. Didn’t realize that they were just a nameplate for sale as well, but makes sense.
My western saddle is an older Ozark Leather Co (from the early 80s) and is beautiful to me for it’s time. Inherited it, unused from my grandfather & background I got was it was made as a rugged work type saddle for Arabs (and certainly fits lots of those weird “A” shaped with the super wide barrel Arabians) and has lots of detailed tooling everywhere, even in unexposed parts of the skirt, fenders, etc.
I wonder who the real manufacturer was as it just has an Ozark Leather Co tag.
I don’t have any good photos of just the saddle, but here’s one with the front half of the saddle with the recently deceased (and my first horse) Star Runner.
