Olympic Team Show Jumping Concludes Wednesday, August 17
The announcers said Qatar is being coached by Jan Topps, and one of them said Qatar now has a full team of capable riders, not just 2.

Canada qualified all 4 team members for the individual finals! But does this mean we can only have 3 riders actually compete?
We aren’t qualified for the individual finals yet, just for the next round. But yes say if all 4 Canadian riders jumped clean tomorrow (the third individual final) and were qualified for the finals then only three could compete in the finals.

It was a bit odd to see the camera pan to George Morris cheering for the Brazilian team!

But super ride from the last Brazilian rider!
To think they let their successfull French coach go last year (for money reasons) after winning the Nation’s Cup at Spruce, but they can afford George Morris!? Even for a few weeks, I bet there was no saving there!

Is it over? if so, where can I watch a re-run? Trying to avoid spoilers and just watch the whole thing!

As I see it, tomorrow we have all riders from the top 8 teams, and all others with 8 or fewer faults. That looks like a group of =/- 41. They could take more to get to 45.

Whoops…I got a little ahead of myself! Thanks for the explanation.

Bost’s round looked like a bad Pony Club rally.
yeah, he makes me want to poke my eyes out- but he wins a lot.
Why? He coached them.
Of course I know that he is their coach, just still odd after seeing him as the face of U.S. showjumping for my entire life, that’s all I meant!

For those looking for a replay, NBC will have it on the website but it may take a bit of time before it is uploaded.

ahem, somehow I don’t money is an issue with these guys, at all.

Honestly, I kind of hope Brazil wins the Team. At home. Then maybe more South Americans and their countries will get interested in horse sports, the way they were right after WWII. Right now competing in horse sports seems to be a dynastic thing engaged in by very few families. BUT I do hope that the Brazilian Team rides very early on in the competition, because, IIRC from the Pan Ams, the Brazilian crowds try to fluster the other competitors during their rounds. They are much more like football spectators than dressage ones.

I had a really busy morning, but I managed to catch several Canadian riders and the final ten rides of the day; really proud of Team Canada!

That was the reason BRAZIL gave as not being able to afford a full time coach for the team! It was the Brazilian Federation who made the decision. And frankly, the team is where it is because of that coach, not because GM appeared a few months ago. They won the Nations’ Cup without GM!!

Actually, the Brazilian crowds are far from being fair to other athletes (as witnessed in the Pole Jump last night). You can support your athlete but you should not boo, insult, jeer the other athletes which is what the crowd did. Not sportsmanship there at all.

It seemed like no one (except Kent) were double clear in the first rotation — rider - 0 Course - 1

By half way though everyone was zipping around. An occasional water and an occasional rail — but most seemed to make it easily.

Amazing the difference between the good riders and the great riders.

How many horses were double clear both days? I know that Kent and MMB were, but were there a lot of others?

GM is certainly not responsible for Brazil’s success.

Stephan is appealing his disqualification, for what it’s worth.

There are a few double clears ie Lamaze, Meredith, and a few others… I close my results window, but Kent is not the only one!

I just checked and there are 11 double clear riders!!!

Doda and Pedro veniss for Brazil were double clear.

Without looking at the results, I know Christian Ahlmann jumped 2 clear rounds. I thought I heard there were others.

Thanks! Does anyone know how long it’s been taking to be posted?

I believe LHU meant the first team rider of the rotation. Kent went first for the USA, Christian Ahlmann went first for Germany, and they are double clear.
