Two team golds for GB this Olympics!!! Eventing and showjump!!
Ended just in time for me to start my meeting lol
I’m so happy…
Congrats GB!
What an Olympics they’ve had in the Equestrian events so far!
John on CBC just corrected himself and agrees with you!!
So happy for and most especially Karl but damn rule equestrian!
The individual competition is gonna be a nail-biter omg
If Karl jumps like he did today, clear and SO fast, he has a good chance of an individual medal too.
I do not watch a lot of show jumping, but what strikes me is how many beautiful, soft rounds there have been. horses happy and relaxed.
I remember a lot of yanking and pulling in the past, a lot of rounds were not at all enjoyable to watch.
This was so nice today. I think only the first French horse looked like it was being manhandled.
Agreed but I wonder if they’ll put him in. We can only submit 3 for the individual. Assuming Greya is better by then, it’ll be an interesting decision
My guess would be Laura’s out and Greya’s in. She had a crazy hard rub that stayed in the cups round 1, and rail round 2.
Amazing day of sport! Half watching with one ear bud at work I stood up for McLains round. What a master and what a horse. Excited to rewatch tonight. Wasn’t Scott Brashs horse a late sub?
BTW I would like to give Kim Emmen a medal too. I hope her form holds for the individual rounds.
I don’t see how you can NOT let Karl compete as an individual. He was the only one of the 3 to have 2 clear rounds. He’s earned it.
You see more of the manhandling indoors where the turns are tight and they basically bounce off the walls to get to the next jump. This was a big beautiful galloping track that was more suited to forward ridig and thinking.
He’s the only one of our team to put down two clear rounds so I hope he gets the respect he deserves now. I had to watch his round on my phone as I rode the escalator out of the train station.
Same! Also, unless I missed something, he had the fastest clear round of the day today out of ALL competitors. He absolutely deserves the chance to go for it.
I know Ben Maher changed his mind late on his ride… not sure about Scott…
We saw more manhandling yesterday during the qualifying, but I agree that today’s rounds were mostly flowing.
I was going to say, you see a lot of manhandling with the less experienced countries I feel like. Maybe nerves and inexperience at that level.
The individual competition looks so hard to call. Just checked the bookies here.
They’ve got Henrik Von Eckermann as the 3/1 favourite then the next closest rider is 10/1! That’s Jerome Guery for Belgium
Kent Farrington best for USA at 14/1
Ben Maher best for GB at 16/1.
