Olympics 2024

I know its a little early, but I figured a thread to dump all things Show Jumping Olympics would be useful.

Saw yesterday for the Irish that Bertram Allen is out as traveling reserve.
I wonder if Denis or Mark will travel now?

While I’m a USA girly all the way, the Irish have been SO strong this year. I’m definitely rooting for them as well.

Never too early! I’m team USA all the way…….until king Edward walks in the ring. I know being world number one hardly makes him an underdog, but he’s kinda little and 19 (maybe 20?) and I can’t help but root for him

I was going to ask the schedule but instead I googled it and shared it here! All times are Pacific (my time zone).

7/28 1:30 Eventing Cross Country
7/29 2:00 Eventing Team Final (medals presented)
6:00 Eventing Individual Final (medals presented)
7/30 2:00 Dressage Grand Prix Day 1
7/31 1:00 Dressage Grand Prix Day 2
8/1 2:00 Jumping Team Qualifier
8/2 5:00 Jumping Team Final (medals presented)
8/3 1:00 Dressage Team Grand Prix Special (medals presented)
8/4 1:00 Dressage Individual Grand Prix Freestyle (medals presented)

At least the jumping team final and individual qualifiers aren’t tooooo early. Everything else is sleepy-time.

Replays

Peacock

Looks like lots of early stuff on the west coast. Maybe I need to figure out how to record unless the replays are really a thing.

I plan to “practice” with the replays before any finals. Otherwise I might be watching team jumping finals at 5am….

I don’t think you can record streaming

I picked up a discounted Peacock year long subscription earlier this year mostly for the Olympics content. You can add all the equestrian events to “My Stuff” in Peacock before they air to have the events all saved in one place to go and watch after they air live. I love watching horse sport but middle of the night time slots, not so much.

Is that the Premium Plus or Premium subscription? To be able to watch it later sounds great.

I wonder if the previous Olympics are available somewhere on the NBC website. Or on NBC Sports streaming. It might be a paid site, but I do wonder if they are available somewhere. There are various videos from Badminton, Poland, Pau and other events available and a few of Olympics from Tokyo and London, from the British site, available on You Tube.

I have Premium Plus just because I hate ads.
But I think you can do it on Premium too!

I will say, I thoroughly enjoy my Peacock subscription. I watch it WAY more than I ever watch Netflix. I pay $13.99 and am happy as a clam with no complaints.

I just have the regular premium subscription.

@Larksmom a lot of the previous Olympics (not NBC replay but the international feed) are available on the Olympics YouTube channel.

I can’t find “My Stuff” - does that mean I should upgrade to the Premium Plus or am I just blind and can’t find it?

I’m on a laptop right now, but this is where its located for me on the homepage and on an event:

Just added Peacock and I didn’t need premium to get the My Stuff.

Thank you I finally found it and added all the equestrian events I could find!

If anyone is considering a Peacock subscription, check with your cell or cable provider. I have a Verizon cellular plan and I could sign-up for free through them (with ads).

That said, I used to have the Premium Plus plan directly through Peacock’s site and it’s very easy to cancel if/when you no longer need it.

Also came to add some intel about how to get Peacock. I joined Instacart+ (you get two weeks free), and they’re running a promo where you can get a year of Instacart+ for $19 and it includes a Peacock subscription. Get your Olympics watch party snacks and Olympics content in one swoop!
