I’m glad the jury called her out before she tried the wall.
I wish she’d have retired herself, but you live you learn.
Hopefully we see Thailand again at future games!
Now I’m just praying Ben does too…
Me too. I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen the ground jury eliminate. Thank goodness they did. What a LOVELY mare.
It sucks so much. I’m sure all these pros have excellent support systems and have Been There but I’m sure it’s still disappointing and takes a real mental toll. Steffen Peters has been talking pretty openly about his disappointment with his performance this Olympics. I hope these athletes don’t beat themselves up too much. It really is just what happens on the day.
Ben is now through too
All three Brits are in!!
Oh no refusal at the water! But what an incredible accomplishment to make it up to the Olympics on your jr / young rider horse (if I heard that correctly)
I mean McClain has a team silver to go home with and after having a short partnership with Ilex he should be over the moon for the future! He has a real superstar there.
Yes it is far from the end of the world!
That was a super round for UAE!
I’m so excited for them!
What a round!
Pretty young combo too. Lovely horse.
His riding definitely improved from team! I really liked his riding in this round - made some really smart decisions.
Well…if I have to pick any of our riders to go early tomorrow, it would be Laura I think Karl going right in the middle is a good choice for him also. Time to study, but not as much pressure as going last.
I had to mute my TV to take a call.
Are riders starting fresh tomorrow or carrying their faults over?
Same. I felt so bad for her but clearly it was not even close to their day.
And now a moment of silence for Mario Deslauriers. He went SECOND and had to wait 73 trips to be eliminated. Yikes.
I was really sad about that. I love that horse, would pick it to ride, maybe after Balou.
While I know that’s the correct view of the big picture, I’m still disappointed for him, since the horse went so well all around the course until he got to the last jump.
This piece on McLain’s horse was on the local news in Kentucky this morning.
