Ben Maher my god what a ride
Every British rider in this Olympics - eventing, dressage and showjumping - has had a really fabulous round so far (knock on wood!)
Interested to see him throw a shoe! Wasn’t there a big story about him being barefoot at the last Olympics.
I can’t decide if I like the macaron jump or the graffiti wall more. All of these jumps are so beautiful though.
Yes there was! The whole team. I wondered about that too. However, I feel like I remember they said they use glue ons depending on surface sometimes.
Made it look SO easy.
Was it just me, or did the German rider’s (Kukuk) horse have a very weird canter? Almost four-beating.
Imagine having to put that graffiti wall back together properly in a hurry if someone knocks it! Macarons are my favorite, and I have to wonder if they have other fun fences waiting for other rounds.
Laura is such a master!!!
YAY Laura!!!
Yes Laura!!
I also get so giddy every time I see Nick in the kiss and cry for her.
That Brazilian stallion had so much power!
Not really but it has a massive step!

The Saudi horse is definitely not the easiest ride, but I wish the rider would at least pet his horse.
That Ventago horse. Over the standards

Bummed for Australias first round but very cool they are an all female team this year.
I just saw them putting the macarons back in their trays! Shocked they’re not glued down
Same! Those must be a PITA to move, they’ll end up with macarons all over the ring. The striped poles are so pretty too. Not sure I have the patience for that much taping and painting.
I’ve never seen Ermitage Kalone go before, but what absolute perfection of horse flesh. Looks like (but certainly the pros make it look easy!) such a lovely ride and textbook form. I’m a fan.
