When the primary reason I have ignored the poster is thread-posting volume rather than volatility in comment style, the “ignore” feature serves no purpose.
I would like to have a way to save individual posts that I found particularly helpful and want to refer back to.

You can make a bookmark that goes directly to an individual post by clicking on the number in the upper right of the post (so if you wanted to save this post click where it says #3) and then bookmarking.

Neither of these functions is offered as a default setting through our software. Both suggestions had been on earlier “can we do this?” lists for our old tech team during previous redesigns, so it’s something we can take a look at down the road again to see if it’s feasible.
In the meantime, creating a folder and bookmarking/labeling posts of interest is probably your best bet for the latter.
