One of those days…

It seems organization and efficiency were not on my bingo card today.

It took me 2 turn arounds to go back home and #1, get a clean saddle pad. Then #2 I am half a block from home and left my phone at home. I finally get on the road to the barn. I have a nice ride. I have been tack walking her for a month trying to get her over an obscure front leg injury.

I take her bck to the barn and I tie her up in front of her stall. I go in to get a leather wipe to dust off my saddle. I end up fighting with the container and finally get one out and walk out to find my horse with the fly spray bottle hanging off her halter . I keep it in a hanging wire hanger that fits over the edge of the stall. Apparently her head was itchy and she managed to hook the sprayer on her halter. Thankfully, 99.5% of the time she is totally chill and today was that and she just waited for me to unload her head.

Get her groomed post ride and put on her fly sheet. Get all the straps done up and proceed to put on her fly boots. As I walk around to her right side ooof…I have trussed her up to the blanket bar on the stall door (one surcingle was over the bar and then hooked normally to her sheet. Again, she was nice and chill and didn’t moved while I ran back around her and unhooked the strap releasing her from the stall door.

I am glad my horse survived me today  .

I blanketed my horse to the fence once and he stood there all night. He did dig a deep trench as he was getting impatient but he was a very good boy. Don’t drink and blanket your horse in the dark lmao

OMG! Poor horse! (But also kind of funny since everything turned out okay.)

One of my dearly departed geldings got one of the leg straps hung up on his water bucket in his stall somehow overnight. He stood there long enough that the bucket was overflowing with manure. It was gross, but thankfully horse, blanket, and water bucket all survived.

That is funny. I am glad he was chill enough to wait it out.

I have been more careful to turn the spray bottle handle toward the door side and I pulled her fly sheet today in anticipation of triple digit temps in the next couple days. So she is safe from me  for a couple days.
