One or two days in Middleburg/Upperville. What to see?

Hello,
I am going to be on vacation in the Middleburg/Upperville, VA, area around July 17-18. I realize that it is a short time, but is there anything in particular that it a must-visit (I do have the National Sporting Library & Museum on the list).

Thank you!

Make sure you eat at the Red Fox Inn . Its very cool and very historic visit Horse Country (the store) and Middleburg Tack Exchange also

Okay, I will. I saw Red Fox Inn on the internet, and it looked very lovely.

Spend a night at the Wellbourne Inn

Not horse related, but the Air and Space Museum in Dulles ( a short drive) is amazing. and if on a weekend go to the Gilberts Corner market and go see Arno’s pastry… he used to be the pastry chef at the French embassy.

Hunters Head is also delicious. Someone already mentioned the Red Fox Inn which is one of my favorite spots.

My favorite drive is to go west on 50 from Middleburg, through Upperville, and past Paris, then turn right (north) on 601 (Blueridge Mountain Rd), past the Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center, to rt 7, where you turn right (east) on rt 7, then almost immediately right again on 734 (Snickerville Pike), which will bring you back to 50 just west of Aldie. Turn right (west) on 50 back to Middleburg.

Some great mountain scenery on Blueridge Mountain Road, and some big horse farms on Snickersville Pike.

I always enjoy the fact that you can drive around and see actual jumps built into the fence lines for the fox hunt. They look a little naked without any flower boxes in front of them, though. Lol.

You can also push east a bit further and go to Morven Park in Leesburg. https://www.morvenpark.org/welcome.html

We used to do the drive that Janet outlined a lot when I had guests come and stay with me.

Just driving on stone roads between 611 and Trappe is fun. There are some really great farms back in that area. (east of 50)

If you drink, Middleburg is right in the middle of Virginia wine country and there are several excellent wineries/breweries in the area worth checking out. Middleburg Tack Exchange is fun to wander through and do some consignment shopping. Sky Meadows State Park is great if you wanted to spend some time outdoors. In town, King Street Oyster Bar has a great happy hour and dinner menu, and you can follow it up with ice cream at Scruffy’s which benefits the local animal shelter. Common Grounds for coffee and breakfast sandwiches in the morning.

Thank you all for the suggestions so far. Online, it appears to be a very lovely area, so I want to be sure not to miss anything
