Online Pedigree/Progeny/Registry Resources

What are some good online resources for researching pedigree and registry information?

Do the registries in US or EU (like Oldenburg, Hanoverian, Holsteiner, etc) provide any thing for their members(or the public) to search pedigree’s and find progeny?

Edit:
I see there is horsetelex.nl which has a lot of information, that you need to pay to get (and its not in english :[) . Does anyone here pay for the service?

I like Sporthorse-Data.

Horsetelex.com is in English and definitely has a heck of a lot of information that doesn’t need to be paid for. Sporthorse-Data is also a good resource. Rimondo is another one that can be useful.

Oh wow! haha thanks, much better than trying to figure out the google translations :o

Allbreedpedigree.com is a good database, with basic info available for free. More sophisticated reports are by subscription.

What do you mean by “find progeny”? Do you mean to physically locate them? Or just to ID them?

If you just want to ID them, the first place to check is usually Horsetelex. A lot of its features are free.

Just select your language at the top left. Enter the horse’s name, and pick the correct one from the list (if more than one horse has that name). On the horse’s page, just above the pedigree, you will see something that says Show progeny, mareline, etc. Click the link for progeny. Bear in mind the data is not necessarily official or complete, but you can often find a lot of info that way.

If you need more info, you can try asking the registry, but there are sometimes costs associated with doing those kinds of database searches. And some (most?) of them will do it only for a horse you own.

This is a newer database, looking up a horse and progeny is free…
