Online vet pharmacies that don’t suck?

I’ve been using Allivet for years but they’ve really gone downhill. After numerous instances of autoship orders not processing and many frustrating conversations with their offshore customer service department, I decided to try Chewy. Well, they canceled my very first Rx order with zero notice! If I hadn’t called to ask when it would ship I would still be waiting for it. I am really freakin fed up. Can anyone recommend a reliable online pharmacy with good prices and decent customer service? (Although really, if everything goes as planned I don’t want to ever talk to customer service! Just fill my darn orders and I won’t have to bother you…)

Wickliffe in KY.
It’s been over 10yrs since I last ordered from them, but they always filled orders promptly & were good to work with.
Vet faxes RX, you call to place the order & done!

I also use Allivet. They have the best pricing for one of my dog’s medications but I simply have the auto ship set to deliver a month before I need it so I can get the drugs in time.

For everything else I go to FarmVet first. I know they’ve had some shipping hiccups lately but they’re now proactively communicating their ship times and my last RX and supply orders were in the mail the day after I placed the order. And you can’t beat their customer service.

I use Valley Vet. They contact my vet for the script and their customer service is wonderful.

I’ve used Heartland Vet Supply and been happy with them.

I use Heartland Vet Supply. Shipping is very quick to CO which helps for me, but they also almost always have a coupon code. Doesn’t apply to everything name brand, but most of my meds aren’t. I don’t think they have as extensive compounding services as some others if you need that.

I have good luck with 1800 Pet Meds for my horse’s joint supplement. Best price and reliable autoship.

I guess I’m the only one, but I go through Vets First Choice since my vet gets a small kickback.

I’ve used Valley Vet and they are great as well.

I do Valley Vet, too.

Had a stunningly terrible experience with Heartland. Never again!

Valley Vet. You can place your order online and have them contact your vet for presciptions. Very easy, excellent servce.

I haven’t gotten scripts filled from VV but I do buy all my vaccines/ supplies for horses, dogs, cats, cows and they are excellent. I have no doubt they excel there too.

Agree with ValleyVet. Have never had any issues with them. I get compounded Sucralfate from Rood and Riddle and they were super responsive the one time I had a question.

Don’t even get me started on the number of calls I had to make to Chewy and my vet to get my cat’s prescription sorted out recently. Will not go with them again for prescriptions if I can help it.

Ugh I’m with you on Chewy. I get prescription vet food from them, and they try to be helpful if I have to call them (as with any of their products), but the Rx stuff is kind of a hot mess.

Thank you all! I wish I had asked you guys before I started trying to order from Chewy. The problem is, I feel like I have to order from them at least once now because: They required me to mail in the Rx for our dog’s thyroid medicine (yes, mail, like with stamps, in 2022). Then they sent an email saying that if I sent it Priority Mail they would take $8.95 off my order, so I did that to get it there faster. Then they cancelled that entire order without any notice because they allegedly couldn’t contact the other vet for a different Rx. Now of course if I don’t re-place the order I spent $8.95 on absolutely nothing and they win somehow. No way am I letting Chewy / the post office keep my $8.95! But next time I think I will try Valley Vet. I’ve ordered from them before and had no issues–just not Rxes.

@Renn_aissance, my recent issue with Allivet’s autoship is that I would get the email saying my autoship order would be processing soon, and then it would never process. It would just poof. The autoship date would reset to the next one, but there wouldn’t be any sign of a recent order in my account. (At least they weren’t charging me, I guess.) Then I’d have to call their excruciating customer service and recreate the order over the phone. Each time I explained what happened, but they didn’t fix whatever the glitch was. I guess this has not happened to you? I got fed up because the whole point of autoship and online ordering is convenience and if I have to do all that to place the damn order, it’s no longer convenient.

Depends on what you’re ordering, but I’ve used WalmartPetRx for many things lately with no complaints.

Something is seriously wrong with Allivet’s website and has been for months now.
